  • Ron Batra is currently a Senior Director of Architecture at Equinix, focused on Cloud Integration with Oracle and other partners. Prior to Equinix, Ron was a Senior Director with AT&T in the Cloud and Hosting Services Division, where as an early stage founder, Ron launched 3 Public Cloud Products including partnering with Oracle/Sun for Core Technology, Managed Applications as well as Oracle Engineered Systems. Prior to AT&T, Ron was a Consulting Manager with Deloitte Consulting, focused on Oracle EBusiness Suite, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Database Technology - as a Chief Architect/Technical Lead for projects ranging from $1MM to $20MM for clients in North America. Ron also served as one of the first Oracle Deputy CTO's with the Deloitte-Oracle partnership focused on developing the Smart Grid for the Utility Vertical. Ron also started up the Fusion Middleware COE for Deloitte, leading a global team of over 200 practitioners. Prior to Deloitte, Ron worked in different leadership roles in internal IT for about 10 years - in Application Development, IT Infrastructure, Integration and IT Transformation in leading companies such as GE, National Instruments and Textron, among others. Ron's process background includes a Six Sigma Green Belt (GE) and Project Management credentials (PMP). Ron also serves with Oracle as a Fusion UX Advocate, working closely with the Fusion Applications team to evangelize content and messaging. Ron is actively involved with different OAUG and IOUG communities in the area of Fusion Middleware (OAUG SIG Chair) and Cloud Computing (IOUG SIG Board Member) and is an active speaker since 1999. Ron has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sardar Patel University India, and a Masters in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of Oklahoma Norman. He recently completed a course on Big Data from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In his spare time, when not working and blogging, Ron likes to keep fit doing distance running, biking and other regimens. Ron is also a bit of a foodie and loves to experiment with Fusion Cooking, especially BBQ.
