Martin Klier is a Database and Performance Optimization expert, who went into IT business in 1997 and works with Oracle technology since 2003. He lives in Bavaria, Germany. Martin is co-founder and managing partner of "Performing Databases", a company specialized and excelling in database performance, architecture and administration topics. (http://www.performing-databases.com) His technological focus is on Oracle Database Core Tech (all editions), Real Application Clusters, Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Linux. He likes performance analysis and tuning of complex systems with dynamically changing load profiles. Skeptical needs assessments, thorough architecture planning, decent system sizing, critical benchmarking and experienced load-focused system analysis are Martin's formula to success in avoiding production downtime. Martin Klier also is an active speaker on national and international events, such as COLLABORATE, Oracle OpenWorld and DOAG Konferenz, plus a long list of local venues, like regional user groups, IT schools and business events. Being an active member of the German Oracle User's Group (DOAG), Martin is deputy president of the Nuremberg group, responsible for the "Oracle In-Memory Tuning" topic in the Database Community, and he's a delegate of the Database Division to the DOAG assembly.
