It's now possible to support a global page (before the global page was known as page 0) for each user interface. Therefore, if an application has multiple user interfaces there will be multiple global pages.

Summary
On page template level it's now possible to specify which "Grid Layout" should be used to layout regions and page items. This is an alternative to "HTML Table" based layouts used by APEX in older applications. The new jQuery Mobile based theme is already making use of this new feature. Sub Regions can now also be positioned next to each other as long as the region template doesn't contain a sub region template configuration.
