When running a procedure from a pl/sql package, SQLDEV creates a dialog to pick the target procedure to run, and the associated arguments.
Within the PL/SQL Block there are variables set up to pass the values into the procedure, and to receive the results. There are bind variable assignments, and commented out output "Legacy output:".
Most of the time i prefer to have the values displayed on DBMS_OUTPUT. That generally involves uncommenting the DBMS_OUTPUT stuff, and deleting the bind assignments.
I would like two user preferences.
1) if checked, generate the bind assignments
2) if checked, generate the DBMS_OUTPUT stuff, including possibly code to print the first part of the output clobs, and or iterating ref cursors.
The net benefit from my perspective is less text editing to get the desired results.
