About Features

Overview

Use the Features report to view features introduced since Oracle NoSQL Database 18 Release 1(18.1). Releases that include a feature are indicated by a green check box in the table and a tag under the feature name. The Initial Release is indicated under the first green check box for each feature. You can filter by Oracle NoSQL Database On-premise or Cloud Services, sub-areas, search for features, and compare releases. Deprecated features are indicated by a yellow triangle.

Filtering Sub Areas

The database feature set is divided into Focus Areas, each of which contains Sub Areas. You can filter by drilling down into various Focus and Sub Areas.

For example, to view all features on SQL Query Language:

1. In Focus Area, select Application Development.

2. In Sub Area, select SQL Query Language.

Drilling Down into a Feature

To drill down into a feature for more information, click the feature name. A modal box containing the following information appears:

  • Feature Description: A brief description of the feature.
  • Release Availability: The applicable releases for the feature.
  • Parent Feature (where the parent feature name is different from the feature name): You can use the feature if you are licensed for its parent feature.
  • Available On:
    • ALL OFFERINGS: There are no licensing requirements for the feature. You can use the feature on all offerings without obtaining any special licenses.
    • Enterprise Edition: You can use the feature on Enterprise Edition only.
  • Initial Release: The premier release for the feature.
  • Provide Feedback link: Link to share your feedback.
  • View Documentation link: Link to view the feature documentation.

Filtering and Comparing Releases

By default, the application shows all features introduced since Oracle NoSQL Database 18 Release 1 (18.1). You can select either On Premise or Cloud Service to view the applicable features. Further, if you select On Premise, you can choose the releases of interest to compare them.

For example, to compare all features in Oracle NoSQL Database 18.x and 19.x:

1. In Focus Area, select All Focus Areas.

2. Select On Premise.

3. Under Version, select 18.x and 19.x.

The application now shows the cumulative features in Oracle NoSQL Database 18.x and 19.x. A feature that was newly introduced in 19.x has a gray X under 18.x, and a green check under 19.x You can also view its applicability to other higher releases. Features that were introduced in 18.x or earlier have green checks under 18.x release onward up to the latest supported release. A deprecated feature has a yellow triangle under the release number.

Using Search

For example, a query of "asynchronous" returns features that mention this term. You can also search on keywords, function names, and parameters. For example, a query of "Multi-Region" returns all features that mention this feature.

Note that Focus Area, Sub Area, and Version filtering apply to the search. To search all features when you have selected On Premise option:

  1. In Sub Area, deselect all options.
