Free APEX Evaluation Service
The free APEX evaluation service has been operating for over 20 years and provides developers with a workspace to experiment with APEX. There is no configuration or payment necessary to get started with evaluating and exploring low-code application development with Oracle APEX.
The free APEX evaluation service will be moving to oracleapex.com on August 17, 2025
Service Limitations
Oracle provides the apex.oracle.com service for demonstration purposes only. Storing of production or sensitive data is prohibited. Limitations of this service include:
- No customization of APEX Instance settings.
- No running of production applications.
- No storing of production or sensitive data.
- No scheduler job frequency below 10 minutes.
Please visit the Getting Started page to learn more about using Oracle APEX for production use cases.
Automatic Workspace Purging
Workspaces without any activity will be purged after 60 days. Workspace Admins will receive a notification 14 days in advance, with a second reminder 3 days prior to purging. Users can retain workspaces by taking action before the purge. Note that Oracle does not backup workspaces or provide recovery options for this free service.
Deleting Your Workspace
Workspace administrators and developers can submit a request for their workspace to be removed at any time by following these steps:
- Sign in to the workspace.
- From the Administration menu in the APEX navigation bar, select Manage Service → Make a Service Request.
- On the Request Service page, select Request Termination and follow the on-screen prompts.
Right to be Forgotten
Workspace termination will result in all accounts, applications, and data in the workspace being removed from apex.oracle.com.
Upcoming Domain Change for the Free APEX Evaluation Service
On August 17, 2025, the free APEX evaluation service will move to oracleapex.com. All existing workspaces will be accessible through the new domain, and you can continue to log in and use your applications as usual.

Why are we moving to a new domain?
Using oracleapex.com as the dedicated domain for the free APEX evaluation service helps us maintain a clear separation between our evaluation environment and official Oracle resources.

Do I need to do anything?
For the vast majority of users, no action is needed. Your current bookmarks and links will continue to work as expected. No additional action is needed unless you use social sign-in or have integrations that reference apex.oracle.com. If so, please update your configurations using the documentation of your social sign-in provider. For more details, see our blog post.
